Clinical Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics

In the Clinical Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics at Tohoku university Hospital, our main treatment includes esthetic restorations and endodontic treatments. All the surgical procedures such as periapical surgery, root resection, non-surgical root canal treatment and adhesive restorations cases are performed using Endodontic microscope. Dental hygienists are in charge of oral prophylaxis and also involved in maintenance of clinical research studies such as data management and computer related activities.
We are also working on conservating treatment aiming to improve oral function for patients with intractable diseases such as Marfan syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. We are collaborated with medical departments of the university hospital for better understanding the state of oral condition in these patients.
